The “Bilbao Balioen Hiria Prizes” are linked to the Bilbao Balioen Hiria Project, a participated initiative led by the City Council of Bilbao, which has been co-created and developed together with local residents.
Bilbao Balioen Hiria wants the city to be known as, and recognized, not only because of its important economic and urban regeneration, recovery and transformation process, but also because of its values. It aims to create a collaborative workspace for analysis, reflection and discussion among institutions, all kinds of entities, companies, media, political groups and residents.
The prizes are one of the three core areas and one of the 15 actions adopted in the Plan to Develop the Values Charter, which was approved to promote and develop the values included in the document.
The aim is to reward and publicly acknowledge the work of entities that foster the content of the Bilbao Values Charter by implementing initiatives that put into practice any of the values contained in the Values Charter.
